Mr. Tapley's Life Tips
Inspired by The Essential 55, written by Ron Clark, Co-Founder of the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, I set out to create my own list of tips and procedures for my students to follow during my second year teaching. Not wanting to completely bite from Mr. Clark, though, my goal was to create something that was less rules of the classroom and more guiding lanes throughout life. What resulted was "Mr. Tapley's Life Tips," a fluid list of things I have learned throughout life that I believe will help my students not only while they are in my classroom, but once they leave it, as well.

During the school year, we cover one every Monday and the students really seem to buy into them by the third week. I do not go in order as some are more relevant than others at a particular time during the school year. Also, since one of the true gifts of life is the ability to continuously learn, it is not set in stone; it grows as I learn more things during my time here on Earth.
